Junior Trainers

Calling all youth members who’ll be in their second or third year of Rangers (or Trex members of the same age) in September! You may have heard of Junior Leaders, but have you heard of Junior Trainers? This new program, brought to you by the Provincial Learning and Engagement subcommittee and members of the Ontario Youth Forum, is launching in September.

Over the 2025-2026 Guiding year, you can participate in six Trainer Learning Path courses* adapted specifically for youth and finish the year with a practical training experience. You’ll build your leadership and communication skills while learning about an important Guiding role, while having fun with other youth! This is the same program as our adult member training, with a youth-friendly spin. And yes, there is a pin for completing all six modules! Junior Trainers who complete the practical portion will receive a certificate.

Apply by June 10

We’ll hold three information sessions so you can learn more about this new program and ask questions:

*Two modules are e-courses to complete on your own time and four modules are 1.5 to 2 hours each, delivered virtually. Learn more about the modules below. We expect to run the modules roughly once per month – the exact times and dates to be determined by the group. The practical component will be between March and June 2026 – more details to come!
