Get a head start planning for summer camp 2020 - Applications open December 2nd
to all parents
Doe Lake Girl Guide Camp and Camp Woolsey will both operate a full summer of wonderful overnight girl programs next year. Mom and Me weekends and Family Camp at Doe Lake in August are back by popular demand. We are introducing a two-week Discoverers program where girls can deep dive into their favourite activities. Early bird discounts and financial assistance (for eligible girl members) are available. Ready, set, go on December 2nd!

Travel Opportunity
to all Ranger parents in communities 17-19, 22, 23, 37 and 38
Are you a Ranger looking to travel with fellow Guiding members? We are the 3rd BC SOAR 2020 Independent Trip Unit and have spots available for two Rangers. This trip will include 8 days of camping in Sooke BC followed by 4 days of site seeing in Victoria. Trip dates July 24th, 2020 to August 4th, 2020. to Spark, Brownie and Guide parents in communities 13-19, 22, 23, 37, 38 and 41
Register for some fun-filled, girl-focused program days. Participants will enjoy outdoor games, crafts, songs and more. Each day we will do activities and earn a special crest from different provincial and global Girl Guide challenges. 

Jan 25th, Mississauga: Make Your Own PJ Pants
to Guide parents in communities 13-19, 22, 23, 37, 38 and 41
Guide units and individual girls are invited to come and develop their skills using a sewing machine. If registering as a unit, one adult supervisor is required for every two girls. The equipment and fabric will be provided.

Feb 7th, Mississauga: Parents’ Night Out
to all parents in communities 13-19, 22, 23, 37, 38 and 41
Are you due for some time off? You might want a date night, dinner and a movie or just a quiet evening at home alone without having to worry about keeping the kids busy. Consider bringing your children to a supervised program at the Mississauga Girl Guide Centre. You can drop off and pick up any time within the event times. Boys are welcome too.

Feb 15-17th, Camp Ma-Kee-Wa, Palgrave: Family Day weekend fun
to all parents
GGCON is hosting Family Camp again next year! Your whole family is invited to be campers. Let us take care of the programming, cooking and cleaning and you just enjoy camp. Your days can be as structured or as unstructured as you wish. Family Camp combines the freedom of a cottage or resort holiday with professionally delivered camp activities. We sell out each year so register early!

March 1st, St. Catharines: Girl Guide Day with Niagara Ice Dogs 2020
to all parents in communities 9, 10, 14, 21 and 41
Come and watch the hockey game and cheer on the Niagara Ice Dogs with all your Guiding friends. Ticket holders may skate on the ice before the game from noon to 1 p.m.

March 7th, Mississauga: Make Your Own PJ Pants
to Guide parents in communities 13-19, 22, 23, 37, 38 and 41
Guide units and individual girls are invited to come and develop their skills using a sewing machine. If registering as a unit, one adult supervisor is required for every two girls. The equipment and fabric will be provided.

Aug 10-14th, Windsor Guide House, Windsor: Windsor Guide House Summer Day Camp
to Spark, Brownie and parents in community 1
Windsor Guide House is offering a fun and exciting day camp for girls ages 5 – 12. Each day girls will have the opportunity to complete various challenge badge requirements. There will be an optional sleepover Thursday night at no additional charge.

The Guider of the Month award is a way for girls and youth members to nominate any adult Guiding member who has had a positive impact on their Guiding experience. It is an award that celebrates the contribution that they make to Girl Guides of Canada and specifically your daughter and her unit. Only nominations written by girl/youth members will be considered, but parents may help younger members complete the application if needed.

Nov 23rd, Mississauga: Breaking Career Barriers
to Pathfinder, Ranger and Trex/Extra Ops parents in communities 13-19, 22, 23, 37, 38 and 41
Girls will hear firsthand from women who have found success in non-traditional careers. This is the first of our biannual series focusing on underrepresented career paths for women. All girls are welcome so please consider bringing a friend.

Nov 24th, Ottawa: GGs Meet Gee-Gees: Girl Guides Game
to all parents in communities 27-29 and 40
The uOttawa women’s volleyball team invites all Guiding members to watch the Gee-Gees face off against the Montreal Carabins. There will be fun activities for all branches before and during the game. Girls will have the chance to meet empowered women from various careers and learn skills that count towards the Guiding program. This event is for members of Guiding and their friends and families.
