Unit portion of Membership fee to follow the girl
to all adult members
At the start of each Guiding year, a portion of each girl’s membership fee is deposited into the unit’s bank account. This money can be used to support activities, badges, crafts, etc. for the girl. In the initial part of the Guiding year there can be a lot of registration movement, since the girls are finding a unit that best suits their schedule. Therefore to better support Treasurers and unit budgeting, the unit portion of the girl’s membership fee will now ‘follow the girl’ on November 25th, 2019. This means that if a girl changes units, the membership fee ($24 in its entirety) will be withdrawn from the unit account and transferred to the new unit. If a girl withdraws from GGC, the membership fee ($24) will come back to the provincial account. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact your unit banking team.

Parents Volunteering at Unit Meetings and Camps
to all adult members
Have you invited parents to assist at upcoming unit meetings or a camp? If so, please have them complete and submit their A.7 Non-Member Volunteer Application Form today! Once their application is received, they will be prompted to complete their Police Record Check (PRC). Our partnership with Sterling BackCheck provides parents with a secure check at a reduced rate, however, if a local police check is being provided, the process could take a few weeks. Safe Guide paperwork is required a minimum of two weeks before your event. To ensure any parents who are participating as Unit Assistants have their PRC on file in time for upcoming events and unit meetings, have them submit their A.7 to member.admin3@guidesontario.org today!

Potential Members for your Unit
to all adult members
Do you have an individual currently undergoing the screening process, intending to join your unit? Encourage them to take the necessary steps (booking their interview, completing their Police Record Check and reference invitation) to complete the process! It is important to note that if you require the individual to take part in an upcoming event or unit meeting, they do need to be a fully screened member before they can participate! You can tell that the entire screening process has been completed when they appear on your unit roster.
