National
Rally Day - Ontario
May 15, 2010
Toronto, Ottawa, Sudbury,
Thunder Bay

THANK YOU!
What a celebration! Thank you to all that helped make Rally
Day in Ontario such an amazing success. RALLY DAY - WHAT A CELEBRATION!
From Thunder Bay to Sudbury, from Toronto
to Ottawa, it was incredible to see the thousands
and thousands of Members spontaneously shouting
their pride and excitement of being part
of this organization. Happy faces enjoying
the day certainly reinforces why we do what
we do!
You Said It!
Rally Day was a blast! Thank you to all
that participated and all that made it such
a wonderful Guiding Day.
A day to remember. My Guiding life has been
full of those moments you never want to forget
because they touched you, CM 99, MOA 2000;
my first Doe Lake sunset campfire on the
beach... the list goes on. But watching my
Sparks at the opening ceremonies realize
that Guiding is just so much bigger than
our little Spark Unit and the Brownies that
meet in the gym next to us was touching.
Rally Day in Thunder Bay was a huge success!
The girls and Guiders had a wonderful time
and raved about the whole day; they left
invigorated and pumped about Guiding. Two
Guiders from west of Thunder Bay came up
and hugged me and thanked province profusely
for supplying the buses. The day went off
without a hitch, the weather cooperated,
and laughter could be heard throughout the
day.
It was long and tiring, but I really did
have a great time. Capping it off were the
first 3 Sparks we had at the beginning were
the last 3 Sparks we had at the end. They
came to eat a snack at one of our tables
as we cleaned up. They had brought swaps
(I forgot mine and kicked myself for so many
missed opportunities) and wanted to give
us each one as we were so nice.
The sea of blue pompoms is something that
none of us will forget. I know my Facebook
friends and I had nothing but positive things
to say about the day.
• Wow! What
an absolutely fantastic day it was. 15th
Waterloo Sparks would just
like to add a huge thank you to all the organizers.
You did a fantastic job. I believe this was
the best Guiding event I have ever attended.
Our 5 and 6 year olds all thought Guiding
ended once you turned 7 but they now know
differently!
I must admit though,
when we sang the Guide Marching song, I
did find myself choking
up a little. When I first learned the words,
it was "it’s been 50 years or
more" and now we've reached 100 - that's
fantastic - just as the job planning and
implementing the day.
• WOW!!! What
an awesome day! Thanks to all involved
in organizing. We had a blast.
It was great for the girls to see that they
are part of something bigger than our own
small Unit! 1st Marchmont Brownies.
• The 65th Toronto
Brownies and their leaders had a wonderful
day yesterday. We
are so proud to be members of GGC.
• Thank you is such a small way of
showing our appreciation. The best part for
me was not just sharing it with my Unit but
also sharing it with my two girls (4&7)
and my mom. Now I look forward to sharing
it with my non-Guiding community. Job done
beyond imagination!
Memories for a lifetime!
Yours in Guiding

An unbelievable 14,277 pounds of food was
received at the Rally Day locations
to help support food banks in this province
and countless Units provided food items
locally as part of the service project; Food
for
Today, Seeds to End Hunger. Over 6000 seed
packets were donated and will be distributed
to agencies through Food Share and local
service organizations such as the Rotary
Club.
