Brownie Splash
Launched in April 2007, this popular program offered in
partnership with the Canadian Life Saving Society can be
a great Unit activity any time of year. Did you know that
Brownie Splash helps girls learn about water safety?
Brownies! Get Ready to Make a Splash!
Drowning is the second leading cause of preventable death
for children under 10 years of age. Ontario Council is
working with the Canadian Lifesaving Society to end that.
In partnership with the Society, we have prepared three
meetings
just for you.
Three Meetings
Meeting #1: themed on water safety (in your meeting
space - instant meeting will be available for download
from the Ontario Council website.)
Meeting #2: pool party/survival instruction at a
pool in your community
Meeting # 3: themed on water safety, will include
a poster-making activity (more about that below).
You will be able to download this info from the site. |

Service Project
After you learn about water safety, spread the word! Tell
every girl and boy you know that they need to learn how
to be safe near the water – especially if they don’t
plan to go in. Create posters showing what you learned
about water safety and hang them up in your community for
others to read.
